Production of Ancillary Products – 14/01/13

I have done a quick vlog explaining what I have done when I came in to work on the ancillary product that I’m creating on Monday.

When I came in the first thing I did was add the copyright logo as it is very important and conventional to see the copyright logo on the back cover of the digipak.
I have also used the grids and ruler from view, so that I could make all the additional information and copyright logo / information level.

I have then gone onto work on the inside panel image. I have painted the picked colour red seen throughout the digipak on top of the dress on a different layer. After I changed the capacity of the layer so that the red could still be seen, but with the dress details still visible as well. Then I have adjusted the colour of the image by changed the levels and highlights / shadows. After I have used the quick selection tool to select the image and paste it on the digipak, which I then blurred the edges of the image using the blur tool.

I then went onto work on the CD artwork. I have desaturated the photo I took of a music sheet and then I adjusted the levels. After I used the circle cutter tool to cut the image into a circle (the shape of a CD). I copied the new image on to the digipak, that I could then create a new layer, so that I could add an ellipse shape to make the middle of the CD.

To create the text on the CD, I have picked the colour of red from the front cover image of the lips, on the front cover panel. I then used the text tool and the same font Trojan Pro to type the text.

The first thing I did when working on the magazine advertisement was to sort out the text of the artist name and album title on the top of the page. I used the text tool and the same image of the music sheet seen on the front cover panel. I used the grids and rules again, so that I workout the spacing and layout so that things weren’t squashed.

As I am trying to promote a new artist, for the advertisement I have used a close up image of the artist. I have done some image manipulations to it.
1. I have used the spot healing tool to remove a spot
2. I have made the lips red
3. I have flipped the image horizontally
4. I have used the burn tool to make the eyes more dominant in the image
5. I have used the clone tool to change the hairs on the head that shows a green reflection

AFTER                                                                    BEFORE

I have used Google to help me find the real images of logos. I have used the same logo of the record logo and I have used the social networking site logos of facebook and twitter. Also I have gotten and used an image of a QR barcode.

I have used the text tool, the grid and ruler, so that I could type the text for the advertisement and arrange it so that the layout is level, tidy and not squashed.
Also I have taken a screenshot of the front cover of the digipak. I did this so that I could put the image of the digipak on the advertisement, as it is conventional to show the image of the front cover on the advertisement

Here is a video I have crated using Camtaisa, summing up and explaining what I have done on the ancillary product, during the time I spent in media. This is something that I planned to do.
