AMBER - Lesson 1 - Ancillary work: Digital advertisement mock up

Here is my advertisement mock up in a digital version that I completed in today's lesson (19/01/13).
I decided to use Photoshop Elements in order to create this mock up because for the digipack I drew it out so I wanted to test out using Photoshop properly for the first time. I did it simply without using any effects or manipulation to the images but this may be something I choose to do in the real product creation. This mock up was done to place the images and text where I'd like them to go so I know what I want and this plan will help me when I make the real thing.
Connections:
I have used the same photo that I used on the centre outer panel on my digipack as it creates a connection between these two products. The image is in an outside environment which connects the advertisement, digipack and music video all together because they all now have the exterior environment featured.
Genre:
I have stuck to the same colour scheme, featuring the colours red and white mainly, in order to follow the house style which is what we'd expect to see in any ancillary work. However to make it more conventional to the Soul/r&b genre, I used the same font types that are used in Soul advertisements. After looking at many different fonts types to understand the types of fonts are usually used, I finally chose Optima as my one.
