Research into Design on Soul Genre Music Digipaks & Advertisements

I have looked into and research advertisements and digipaks covers of artist’s singles and albums which are from the musical genre soul, such as Aretha Franklin, Seal and Emeli Sande (as she is the original artist), as the genre of the song wonder is soul. I have used the search engine Google to do this research and look at images.

After looking at the advertisements and digipaks from my research I have come to the conclusion that I will need a formal and smart font in CAPITAL LETTERS as this is the recurring thing I see in all the advertisements and digipaks form the soul genre.

Also I will use a close up image of the artist Athena (as I am presenting a new artists) for the front cover with her eyes looking at something / facing the direction of a corner of the album cover. As I can see a lot of this in the images I have researched based on artist’s that focus on the soul genre of music.

For the colour scheme I will not use colours which are very bright and vibrant as it does not suit the genre of soul, meaning that if I do use bright and vibrant colours people who by music will not recognise it as a soul album. So I will be using colours which are not bright and crazy as that will be more suited for an eletro pop or hip hop album.
