AMBER - Practise with Photoshop Elements

In today's Media lesson, I decided to try out using Photoshop Elements for the first time. I took a picture of Dan and had to edit it on to the template and then add different features onto it. I decided to use a reoccurring star motif, as stars are featured in his eyes, next to his face and on the spin of the CD cover. If I was going to finish this off, I would use more of the motif of stars through out to connect all the panels of the Digipak together.

For my first ever try out of Photoshop, I think it went ok. We were shown the basic tools at the start of the lesson which I was able to try out. I used the spot hider tool, the magic wand to cut out the back ground, I cropped him and used special features to add the stars. I am going to probably have to practise quite a bit more before I actually start editing my own Digipak as I don't feel 100% confident in using this program yet. I am not a very technical person so I might struggle with it at first but I hope I'll get the hang of it. I feel I am more of a creative person that can creatively visual what I want my work to look like, however I will have to work hard to actually be able to technically get it looking like I want to.
I have decided that as I am an Art student, I will probably do various detailed drawings and sketches of what I want my Digipak to look like which will hopefully help me be able to get my visual ideas on to the computer screen.

I am looking forward to this next part of the coursework as I am able to work freely on my own and I can have my own creative outlook so I can hopefully create something good that is up to my perfect standards.
