AMBER - Ancillary Work Intro

Today we were given an introduction into the next part of our coursework, which is the Ancillary work. This means that individually we will be making a Digipak and an advert, used to promote the new artist that we are creating.
Ancillary windows are very important because they enable the product to continue sales after the main product has been released. Some examples of Ancillary windows are; DVD's, games, posters, trailers, and these would all be used in the film industry in order to continue the sales.
However within the music industry, this is slightly different because they come in different forms such as Digipaks and adverts which we will be creating. It is important to promote the album further so that it will be known to people, they will remember what it's like so that when the album comes out they will be familiar with it and want to buy it.

Above is the Triangle to success with Ancillary work. Firstly, the foundations are to follow the codes and conventions of standard Ancillary work. You must understand and acknowledge what the conventions are, so it is vital to work inside the codes and conventions in order to get the marks.
Secondly, there must be clear visual links between the song and the Ancillary work, this is so the audience will be able to recognise that the album is connected to the song and music video they watched, which will increase the sales because if they liked the single, they're bond to love the new album.
