AMBER - Advertisement Research 1

                 Adverts on the tube

Swedish House Mafia:

These are all adverts that I have seen while out and about that I took pictures of, all of which were in tube stations. Swedish House Mafia are a Swedish electronic dance music trio, and their advert features all three of the artists on it. These photos have been heavily edited, however we can still tell it's them. They stick to a clear colour scheme throughout where they stay with black and white. The title is large and clear for all to read and the words "Out Now" are also clear as well. This is a convention of a print ad, as these types of promotional features, will catch the audiences attention and make them want to buy it now because they know it's available and that they can.

Ellie Goulding:

Ellie Goulding's adverts for her latest album Halcyon is represnted in a conventional way. Firstly it sticks to the 3 colour rule of having only black, white and pink featured in it. The pink is used to high light the writing and this colour connotes love and is a feminine colour, this refelcts her main target audience as mostly females would be attracted to her work as she sings about love and relationships a lot. The photograph of herself is a profiled Close up which is a good way to show her face clearly, but from a different angle rather than just straight ahead. This is something that I'd consider doing on my advertisement as well because I think profiled close ups, such as this one, really work well.

Micheal Buble:

This is Buble's new Christmas album and we can see this because at the bottom of the page, it says in big font "the new album". The white colour on here represents snow, which connects to the idea of it being a Christmas album. The picture is from the back, however his head is turned so we can still see his face, he is able to do this as he is such an established artist that we don't really need to see his face because with just his famous name, we still know it's him. However, this wouldn't be a good idea to do on an advertisement for a new artist, as they are trying to get recognised, therefore it is important to have their face shown clearly so that the consumer will look at her and then recognise her face easily.
