I decided to go ahead and email City of London in order to request permission to film on Southbank anyway, even if my group decide against this idea it is good to have permission just in case. I emailed Gillian Edwards and am now waiting for a response.
Just in case Mr Edwards didn't reply in time, I decided to do some further research into the film laws on London's streets. Here is the information that I found which states it is fine for a small crew to film without permission so we are able to go ahead and film on Southbank.
